Andrey Kashechkin tests positive for blood doping. This news is particularly disappointing because Kashechkin gave his positive sample on August 1st and team manager Marc Biver had given an interview the day before where he bemoaned that the team felt Vinokourov had double crossed him with his own doping violations. I’d recommend the Biver interview to those who are having a difficult time making up their minds about Vino’s guilt or innocence. He does not resolve the issue but the interview offers information I have not seen anywhere else.
