German Authorities to Ullrich: “May we have some of your spit, please?”
By Jessica | Permalink |
German authorities will soon have their hands on a bag of blood which was seized in the Operacion Puerto raid last year and is allegedly Jan Ullrich’s. The next move is Ullrich’s - he can grant the Germans access to a saliva swab taken by Swiss police in September, or he can appeal the use of his DNA. The latter could drag the case out for a couple of years, and the former (if the DNA matches) could result in at least a two-year suspension from cycling. The only “out” here is if he’s squeaky-clean and the DNA doesn’t match. And I don’t know about you, but my Pollyanna shield is starting to crack a little bit on this one.
