The Weirdest Cycling Trophy Ever
By Jessica | Permalink |I only caught a fleeting glimpse of the Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne trophy they handed Tom Boonen on Sunday, but it looked downright odd. In the flash when I saw it, it appeared to be some kind of cartoonish ceramic donkey’s head, seemingly painted by a 5th-grade art class. The commentators on Cycling.tv seemed to think it was strange, too, so I didn’t think I was imagining things, but I couldn’t find a picture of it.
Well, leave it to the intrepid photo-hunter I’m married to (usually known as “the husband”) to find a picture of it for your viewing pleasure. Okay, “pleasure” might be a bit strong, as it could cause temporary blindness. Y’know, when you can’t see through the tears because you’re laughing so hard.
I’m sure Tom’s real proud to have won the race and all, but do you think he’ll actually put that atrocious thing on display in his home?

Ha! That thing is hysterical! But, just about anything looks better next to the gorgeousness that is Tom Boonen…
