The Deutschland Announces Preliminary Start List

It was not posted the last time I checked but it is now. Some of the biggest names include Milram’s Eric Zabel, Gerolsteiner’s Robert Forster, Liquigas’ Magnus Backstedt and CSC’s Jens Voigt. In light of this year’s youth tsunami I think my early pick for the GC will have to be Andy Schleck of Team CSC who won the White Jersey and finished second overall in this year’s Giro d’Italia. A great deal can change in a week, but that’s about as good a bet as I could make at this point.

Other riders of interest include Discovery’s Tom Danileson who withdrew early from the Dauphiné Libéré and was removed from his team’s Tour de France starters list due to a stomach virus.

Volksbank is among the wild card teams. If they hold true to form this will be a very exciting tour because they will attack and attack and attack. Unfortunately I still have not found a way to watch this race but the promised excitement keeps me looking. Let’s hope there will be a way where there is a will. Any and all suggestions would be welcome.
