Rosseler Wins Time Trial & Gutierrez Wins Eneco
By Ashton | Permalink |Belgian rider Sébastien Rosseler of Quickstep-Innergetic won today’s Eneco Tour Time Trial. Spaniard José Ivan Gutierrez (Caisse d’Epargne) finished two seconds back in second place today. That was enough to for Gutierrez to win the Final General Classification of this year’s EnecoTour.
Britain’s David Millar’s (Saunier Duval) fourth place finish just 11 seconds behind Rosseler vaulted him from third to second in the GC. Maarten Tjallingii, the Skil-Shimano rider who produced so many exciting moments in yesterday’s stage evidently had tired legs today finishing 1′12″ off the lead today and 16th in the final GC.
T-Mobile rider Mark Cavendish (Britain) won the Points (Sprinters) jersey and Martin Pedersen (Denmark) of CSC won the mountains classification (although no jersey is awarded at the Eneco). Quickstep-Innergetic won the team classification.
