Landis Wants Another Chance

Let’s just say you’ve won the race that’s the pinnacle of your sport, and then your victory was immediately questioned. Let’s say you’ve spent pretty much every waking moment since then proclaiming your innocence and trying to maintain your title. What would your ambition be for the future? Why, to win the same damned race again. You’d want a do-over.
Floyd Landis would like to win the Tour de France again and have a proper celebration, as he feels that was taken away in the aftermath of last year’s race. “I would like to ride down the Champs Elysees in the yellow jersey again because I need to have the proper party,” he said. “I feel that was taken away.”
I hope that if he gets a chance to ride the Tour - or any race - again, it’ll be because the whole controversy is cleared up and there are no more remaining questions. I’d like future headlines about Landis to be about his riding and not his legal battles. And yes, I realize I’m dreaming.
