Around the (ToCA) Web on Wheels: 20 February 2007
By Jessica | Permalink |Some Tour of California (or ToCA to those in the know) news bits for you…
- Jason Donald can’t believe how many people want to take his picture now.
- The stage 1 win was “important” for Graeme Brown, who’s had a complaint with the UCI registered against him by Tom Steels.
- Team CSC is eyeing the overall win, although Dave Zabriskie is out for the remainder of the race.
- California’s tour organizers are doing some big dreaming - they’d like to turn the Tour into a Grand one. I think that’s a wee bit ambitious (as the husband says, “There are exactly three Grand Tours. That’s all.”), though it’d be a great inclusion in the ProTour calendar.
- Last year’s Tour failed to even test riders for EPO… I think they might regret that move now.
- Flickr’ing the ToC prologue - I’m sure there are more Flickr shots of the race out there, too.
- California cycling enthusiasts are excited about their homegrown race. As well they should be.
