Tour of California Viewing Advice?

Time off from work – check.
Money to make to trip and still be able to eat on occasion – check.
Flag to inspire Kazakh riders – check.
With much excitement I am proud to announce that I will be attending this year’s Tour of California. I am psyched for many reasons not the least of which is that it will be my first time attending this event. Last year I watched the race on the telly and simply fell in love with it. The site of the massive crowds on the San Francisco streets made my heart go aflutter. Cycling has truly arrived in the States.
Since I will be attending in part as a correspondent for Cycling Logue (I promise to offer in-depth analysis of the pubs near the course), I would welcome any advice that any of you might have regarding the race and how to best enjoy a cycling event in general. I’m still a novice at this game and would like nothing more than to avoid tripping Ivan Baso while he is climbing a hill.
I’ll be there for the Prologue, as well as stage 1 and stage 2 so if you are going too stop on by and say hi. I’ll be the one stalking Alexandre Vinkourov.
