Vuelta a España organizer Unipublic released a preliminary start list for the three-week national tour, which begins on September 1 with a team time trial in Vigo, Spain.

Robert Förster Wins Deutschland Stage One

Team Gerolsteiner’s Förster bolted from the pack to out sprint Danilo Napolitano (Lampre) and Eric Zabel (Milram) to win the opening stage of this year’s Deutschland. Cycling fans were allowed to heave a collective sigh today when Alberto Contador merely announced at his scheduled press conference that he has not doped. Little else was said and no questions were to be taken.
