The “Former Winner of Paris-Roubaix” Slipstream Addition Has Been Announced
By Ashton | Permalink |As Jessica reported several days ago, Team Slipstream recently announced that a former winner of the Paris-Roubaix would be joining their team. That rider now has been named as Swedish champion Magnus Backstedt.
Magnus, who presently rides for Liquigas, already is a favorite of many U.S. cycling fans and will continue to strengthen the team Slipstream hopes to field in next years Tour de France.
With all the bad news and threatened retreats in international cycling, it certainly is refreshing to see an organization like Slipstream continuing to build for the future!

I claim I thought it would be Magnus as well…
:)
[…] Boy, Team Slipstream is just racking up the top-notch riders these days. From David Millar to Magnus Backstedt, and now Julian Dean has signed with the team. With Millar’s recent victory in the postponed UK road race championships, that means the team’s kit designers will have to work both the New Zealand flag and the Union Jack into the argyle design. Good luck with that one, I say. Tags: julian dean, Riders, team slipstream Like this post? The husband guessed it would be Magnus last week; but since he didn’t actually put that in writing, we can all feel free to ignore him.
Good old Maggie, he’s a great rider and a great guy. It’ll be fun to see him in Slipstream’s argyle. Slipstream is really putting together a quality squad, I hafta say. It’ll be really easy to cheer for them next season.
