More Doping Cases Before the Tour?
By Jessica | Permalink |The husband translated some doping news from Tuttobici today:
There is a new case of doping emerging in cycling, a case that could come out before the upcoming Tour: “We are monitoring 6-7 racers at the top level, considered as suspects due to their actions ahead of the Tour de France. Some of them have already had 3-4 surprise controls, when the UCI usually only asks for one…” explained Anne Gripped, head of anti-doping at the UCI. “We are analyzing the tests which are not all negative: but it takes time, we must respect the procedures and complete the B-samples before publishing the results. Some of these racers were training in foreign countries, with anonymous jerseys in an effort to not be recognized…”
Fantastic. Can’t wait to see how this develops. (Cue miserable eye-rolling emoticon here.)
