Latest UCI ProTour Team Rankings

As a newly anointed minion to Jessica, I wanted to post on a topic I figured few people have thought of yet. The latest UCI ProTour Team rankings are out based on events through the Tour de Suisse (16 events). I wanted to focus on the teams that are the cellar dwellers as shown below.

17 - Française Des Jeux 96pts
18 - Euskaltel - Euskadi 93pts
19 - Unibet.com 91pts
20 - Team Milram 86pts

Do you notice anything strange about it? Unibet, who has been able to participate in only 9 of the 16 events due to the Grand Tour organizers’ squabble with the UCI, is not bringin’ up the rear with the gear. In fact, they are a placing here or there from being a decently placed team in the standings. The other three teams shown above has competed in each event, obviously, but has really stunk it up in the standings. What does that say about Milram? Rather dreadful, if you ask me. They are essentially a team built around 2 sprinters, Zabel and Petacchi, and nothing else. To make matters worse, Zabel recently admitted to prior doping. You have to wonder how happy the Milram brass must be to see the return they are getting. It wouldn’t even be this close had it not been for Milram’s 3rd Place in the Eindhoven TTT

Anyway, to change the subject, I have a suggestion to the den mother and her reference to “Oh Susanna”. We need to update your memory trigger for the state of Alabama. I suggest you listen to “Deacon Blues” by Steely Dan. Even though the song is from 1977, it’s a little more recent than “Oh Susanna”, plus it makes a reference to my beloved University of Alabama. That will be a good song to have stuck in your head the next time you see Ashton or myself post.

Ciao for niao…

“Deacon Blues.” Duly noted.

I’m listening now - memory trigger retraining has begun…

Well, Brett, now you’ve done it. That child will be quoting “Kid Charlamegne” before you know it! I thought I was going to induce culture shock when I posted the true definition of “LA.”

I’m sure glad to have you here, even if your posts will eclipse mine. Did you notice that Sarge made an appearance in a comment a few posts back?
