IOC Censures Pound

Thank goodness someone has the cojones to stand up to Dick Pound and tell him to shut his yap.

The L.A. Times reports that the International Olympic Committee chided World Anti-Doping Agency head Dick Pound on Friday for comments he made suggesting that Lance Armstrong used EPO during the 1999 Tour.

Pound might be fighting for something I’m totally in favor of - cleaning up the sport of cycling - but every time he opens his mouth he makes himself less credible as an unbiased entity. He’s like a schoolyard bully looking for a fight.

Do I think the IOC’s action is going to have any impact on Pound whatsoever? Not a chance. He’s a loudmouth with a soapbox, and he’s not going to be getting down voluntarily. Still, it’s good to see someone is willing to call BS when they see it.
