How in the world is a cycling fan supposed to keep up with all these team changes? I mean, first I had to put off wearing my brand-spanking-new CSC Ivan Basso jacket last year while he was sitting on the sidelines. Then I started wearing it when the Italian federation shelved the case (I’m an optimist, what can I say?) even though Basso had already been signed to Discovery Channel. I don’t think Nike’s going to be producing a Discovery Basso jacket, but let’s just say for the argument that they had, and I bought and proudly wore it. Then, with the news that 2007 will be Discovery Channel’s last year as a sponsor of the team, I’d have a whopping two Ivan Basso jackets in my closet and neither of them would be current.

Seriously, my pocketbook can’t handle all these changes.
