I’m going to have to get used to this “feast or famine” thing, where there’s either nothing to talk about in cycling or too much to talk about. I’m not complaining, I love having too much to talk about (anyone who knows me will attest to that), it’s just that my poor wee fingers can’t keep up.
- Looks like the Tour de Georgia will happen after all this year, thanks to a “coalition of committed sponsors.” Why does that make me immediately think of a coalition of the willing?
- There are a number of riders unhappy with the judge’s ruling to shelve the Operacion Puerto case, and some are speaking out about it - including David Millar and Jesus Manzano.
- Paris-Nice’s first stage had a silent moment of protest by the riders over the shelving of the OP case. That and more OP musings by Velochimp over here.
- Team Unibet says the Milano-Sanremo organizers have given them a wild-card entry to race, despite having been denied a place initially.
- Saul Raisin is training again, and has hopes of returning for the US pro championships in September.
- Frank Vandenbroucke has been acquitted on doping charges as a Belgian court says he’s already been punished with a suspension from the sport.
- Uh-oh - the guy who directed Evan Almighty has signed on to produce “a comedy set in the world of professional cycling” called Tour de Frank. I can hear your collective groans from here.
