Some cycling news for you while we all count down the minutes until July 7th:
- Set your TIVOs now - here is the Tour de France schedule on Versus.
- And if you can’t get enough of the Tour de France on TV, or you just want a dose of Le Grande Boucle at work, check out the official Tour de France channel on YouTube. Now that’s cool. Even the little preview up now is great, giving you a look at the crazy fun that is the Tour caravan that precedes the riders each day. Oh, and I love the soundtrack.
- The VeloNews Tour de France Guide is now out, if you haven’t already gotten yours in the mail.
- I mentioned the other day that the TdF prologue this year is pretty cool, zipping by lots of London tourist attractions, and for a closer look at the route you can watch this little video “flythrough” of the UK stages. If the soundtrack gets to you, there’s a much less annoying map.
- Since this year’s Tour seems wide open, Chris at the Podium Cafe takes a look back at some of the “one off” winners since WWII - those guys who stood on the podium’s top step only once. It’s an interesting list.
- In non-Tour news (what’s that?) there’s a photography show and book called the “Hard Men of Flanders” dedicated to the long history of cycling in Belgium.
- And just in case you didn’t get enough of the Giro, here is the collection of one fan’s personal photographs from the Italian tour.
- The Abu Dhabi Race of Champions might not be the first cycling event that pops to mind for
most people anyone, but with $1 million on the line it’s getting some attention.
