- Lance Armstrong says cycling isn’t the only sport with a black eye right now. He’s right, but try telling that to all your baseball-loving friends who think you love a corrupt sport.
- Sadly, we won’t get to watch a gleeful Serhiy Honchar (or however he’s spelling his name these days) leap around on the podium after winning a stage of a race anytime soon. He’s been fired by T-Mobile now that the results of his surprise May blood tests are in. I don’t think he’s leaping around for joy now.
- Floyd Landis’ new autobiography claims that the UCI’s Pat McQuaid told him “there’s no way you can win” in his fight to clear his name and that he would “end up penniless.” Whatever the truth is about Landis, this is yet more evidence that the people who are in charge of getting the dopers out of cycling need to be sacked. What an ass.
- I have a copy of the film Hell on Wheels which I’ve never seen, because it was sent to me by a German friend and it won’t work in my stupid American DVD player, but seeing this trailer for the film makes me sad. With both Erik Zabel and Rolf Aldag admitting EPO use, the movie might not be as good now as it was before.
- If you like cycling but don’t want to get on a bike, never fear - Pro Cycling Manager is here. Manage your own virtual team through a grueling Tour de France and see if you’ve got what it takes.
